  • onion – you can use red or yellow onion.

  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, reduce the liquids a bit.
  • You can always decrease or increase the amount of fresh ginger you add to your taste.
  • Add a bit more lemon if you prefer more sharpness.
  • You can use a blender if you prefer.
  • If you want a smooth sauce then add to blender and blend to your desired consistency.
  • You don’t need to grate your ginger or onion first – the food processor will do this for you.

Delicious Ways To Change It Up

  • Add some heat – feel free to add red chili flakes for some heat.
  • Change the sweetener – use honey or brown sugar instead.
  • Skip the sweetness – if you prefer a much sharper sauce then simply skip the sweetener.

FAQs

Can I Use Ground Ginger Instead Of Fresh Ginger?

You certainly can. Fresh ginger, along with all the other fresh ingredients gives a better flavor. But also fresh ginger adds chunkiness to the sauce. However, if you prefer then please use the powdered version to your taste.
