Eco-Friendly Sourcing: Reducing Impact and Enhancing Reputation!By selecting suppliers and products that emphasize ethical and eco-friendly practices, hospitality businesses can minimize their environmental impact, support local communities, and strengthen their brand reputation. Eco-friendly products have a reduced environmental footprint throughout their life cycle, from the raw materials used in manufacturing to their design, transportation, longevity, and recyclability.Sustainability has emerged as a global priority, uniting corporations and individuals in the fight against climate change. It has become a key focus across industries, with 2023 expected to mark a significant shift. Sustainability is now recognized as both a business opportunity and a risk management strategy, with a "green market revolution" on the horizon, fueled by government investment. For hospitality organizations committed to environmental responsibility, adopting sustainable practices is crucial for success, while inaction could harm brand reputation. The hospitality industry, with its substantial carbon footprint, is leading the push toward greener practices. Hotels, airlines, and their procurement supply chains offer significant opportunities for positive change. Sustainable procurement is essential, as studies show that up to 90% of greenhouse-gas emissions are indirect, originating from a company's value chain. By prioritizing sustainability in procurement, hospitality brands can reduce costs, drive growth, protect their reputation among eco-conscious travelers, and gain regulatory advantages. Embracing sustainable hospitality is no longer a trend but a business necessity.#sustainable, #enfironment, #hospitality, #procurement, #eco

Thanks to over 70 of you who joined our CEO, Debra Sobel and expert panellists Pauline Potter, Melissa Goncalves Ferreira and James Peter Havey to explore Sustainability: Upskilling and engaging procurement and supply chain. Lively discussion, with really great insight into the challenges and practical ways Evri, Experian and are positively driving forward their sustainability agendas, in collaboration with cross functional business teams and in discussion with suppliers. We'll be publishing a blog with the recording and key take-outs from the webinar next week. But in the meantime, here are some insights: 1. Get your sustainability language and terminology clear before reaching out to anyone in the business or beyond2. When raising awareness and education of sustainability internally, be patient. Give people "digestion time", as Melissa says. These are often complex, technical topics which take time to process and resonate.3. Understand that you will need different approaches and discussions across your supply chain, depending on the maturity, size, geography and offering.4. Be transparent about your ambitions, challenges and where you're currently at. You don't have to have all the answers. By opening up conversations, you can innovate and find solutions together5. Be clear with your suppliers what your goals are and what you're looking for - and guide them on the journey, providing clarity, resources and support.#resonsiblebusiness #sustainability #ESG #sustainableprocurement #procurement #supplychain
