Here is a look at how local minor leaguers are performing this season. Stats through Thursday; not including those who previously went on the injured list and remain out:
Triple-A
IF Buddy Kennedy (Millville), 25, wrapped up his season with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (Philadelphia Phillies) on Tuesday. In 106 games with the Toledo Mud Hens (Detroit Tigers) and IronPigs, he hit .272 (106 for 389) with 31 doubles, one triple, 13 homers, 69 runs and 49 RBIs.
Kennedy made his major league debut June 17, 2022, with the Arizona Diamondbacks. In 53 career games he has batted .205 with two homers and 19 RBIs. ... In 13 games this season with the Tigers and Phillies, he hit .200 (4 for 20) with a double, a homer, three runs and six RBIs ... In 601 minor league games, Kennedy has hit.282 with 124 doubles, 27 triples, 58 homers and 297 RBIs. He was chosen in the fifth round of the 2017 draft by Arizona.

RHP Chase Petty (Mainland Regional), 21, finished his season with the Louisville Bats (Cincinnati Reds). In 28 starts between the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts and Louisville, he went 11-5 with a 4.20 ERA and 130 strikeouts in 137 innings. In his last start of the season Sept. 20, he struck out four in five shutout innings to get the win.
Petty is the No. 8 prospect in the organization, according to MLB.com’s midseason rankings. ... In 73 career games (67 starts), Petty is 12-13 with a 3.44 ERA and 298 strikeouts in 308 1/3 innings. ... He was selected 26th overall in the 2021 draft by the Minnesota Twins.
RHP Brett Kennedy (Atlantic City), 30, is with the Louisville Bats. On July 1, he was moved from the 7-day injured list to the 60-day IL. He has been on the IL since June 15 with an undisclosed injury, his last appearance coming June 13. Through 10 starts in Triple-A, he was 1-6 with a 7.74 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 43 innings.
Through 152 minor league games (132 starts), Kennedy was 40-44 with a 4.34 ERA and 621 strikeouts in 655 1/3 innings. ... Kennedy has made 11 career major league appearances (eight starts), going 2-2 with a 6.65 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 44 2/3 innings. ... The Brigantine resident was drafted in the 11th round by the San Diego Padres in 2015.
High-A
SS Josh Hood (St. Augustine Prep), 24, wrapped up his season Sunday for the Everett AquaSox (Seattle Mariners). In 109 games, he batted .246 (103 for 419) with 21 doubles, three triples, 15 home runs, 59 RBIs and 75 runs. He stole 21 bases on 26 attempts.
In 231 career games, he has hit .257 with 41 doubles, six triples, 28 homers, 130 RBIs and 41 stolen bases. Hood, from Vineland, was selected in the sixth round of the 2022 draft.
LHP Noah Dean (Pinelands Regional), 23, wrapped up his season with the Greenville Drive (Boston Red Sox). In 22 games (15 starts) in Single-A and High-A, he went 2-4 with a 4.52 ERA and 116 strikeouts in 79 2/3 innings.
In 43 career games (32 starts), Dean is 4-12 with a 5.30 ERA and 202 strikeouts in 142 2/3 innings. ... He was chosen in the fifth round of the 2022 draft by Boston.
Rookie League
RHP David Hagaman (Holy Spirit), 21, who signed with the Texas Rangers in July after being selected in the fourth round of the MLB Draft, is listed as injured and is out for the remainder of the season. Hagaman missed the second half of the spring season with West Virginia University after having surgery on his throwing elbow. He was assigned to the ACL Rangers of the Arizona Complex League. The ACL season ended July 25.
3B Tony Santa Maria (ACIT), 22, who was selected by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 19th round of the draft out of Rutgers, signed with the ball club July 22. He was assigned to the FCL Rays of the Florida Complex League on Monday. The FCL season ended July 25.
Independent leagues
LHP Dan Nunan (Ocean City), 24, ended his season with the Rocky Mountain Vibes of the Pioneer League. In 21 games (11 starts), he went 3-3 with a 8.17 ERA and 52 strikeouts in 61 2/3 innings. Nunan was selected in the 12th round of the 2018 draft by the Los Angeles Angels, who released him in 2022.
RHP Joe Joe Rodriguez (Vineland), 24, ended his season with the New Jersey Jackals of the Frontier League. In 53 appearances between New Jersey and the Lexington Legends of the Atlantic League, he went 0-3 with a 7.34 ERA and 80 strikeouts in 61 1/3 innings. Rodriguez spent parts of two seasons in the New York Mets system until he was released prior to this season.
