Check out this 1.3-mile loop trail near La Canada Flintridge, California. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 30 min to complete. This is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and walking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day.

A full circuit (1.8km) of the forest should take you around 60 minutes walking at a leisurely pace. Buses return to Pitlochry continuously throughout the night. The last bus will leave between 10.30pm and 11pm, depending on visitor numbers remaining on site.

The event route is about 1 mile long and takes most visitors about one hour to complete. Plan to spend about 90 minutes to fully experience Enchanted. While it's a relatively easy walk, we do recommend comfy, stable shoes. The route is accessible for strollers, wheelchairs, and mobility assistance devices.

Don't bring outside food and beverages, except for water bottles, into the gardens. We provide picnic tables at the entrance so you can enjoy your own food and drinks outside the gardens. Refreshments are available for purchase in the courtyard near the entrance to Descanso.

Descanso was the location of Nikolas Natchios' funeral in the 2003 movie Daredevil. Its greenhouse was used in a prominent scene in Minority Report. And Reese Witherspoon has filmed no less than three productions at the Gardens!

Free Day tickets are released to the public on the last Thursday of every month at 9 a.m. To maximize access to the public on Free Day, the first Thursday of every month, Member visitation is not permitted. Upper-level early entry is available to eligible Members at 8–10 a.m.

Why is it called Descanso Gardens? ›

Manchester Boddy, owner of the Los Angeles Daily News, purchased the remaining 165 acres. He built a house here and later added 460 acres of watershed land in the mountains to the north. He called it Rancho del Descanso. The Spanish descanso means rest or repose.

We don't recommend adding on the $20-39 VIP Upgrade UNLESS you are going to Las Vegas Ballpark location and want to be in a semi-shorter line for entry to the attraction, Santa (if you go right when they open), and Ice Skating.
