How to catch a fairy in a jar? ›

Just set your jar in an open window with the lid off. Sprinkle a little fairy lure around the jar and over the window sill. Carefully place a tiny piece of cake or pastry in your jar and wait. The fairy will be attracted to the shiny fairy lure and then fly into the jar to eat the treat.

Using a clean 1-inch flat brush, paint one 8-ounce and one 16-ounce jar using the Sugar Cube glitter paint. Apply as many coats as desired and let it dry. Once your mason jar lids are dry, measure and cut enough ribbon to fit around the outside. Using your hot glue gun, glue the ribbons around the outside of each lid.

Add a fairy inside the jar.

The lid will now be the bottom of the jar, making it a sort of snow globe. Consider gluing gown bits of moss, stones, and tiny flowers to the lid around the fairy. This will hide the bottom of the lid, and give the fairy a pretty home to live in.

Favorite foods include nectar, morning dew, flower buds, honey, nuts, fruit (especially berries of all kinds), fresh baked bread, fruit jams and jelly, syrups, candy, and fruit pies. Some are also quite fond (addicted even) of alcohol, especially wines and sweet liqueurs.

Traditionally, Fairies can live in your house, your garden, in a flower pot or even a tree but being such adaptable beings, they can live practically anywhere that takes their fancy.

Enjoy the glow while it lasts. It will begin to fade after two to six hours. If you want, you can add more glow stick liquid to the jar the next night.

Take a scissors and cut the clear end of the glow stick off, letting it drip into the jar. Flip it over and cut the other side. Take a straw and put it over one end of the open glow stick and blow the rest of the liquid into the jar. Put lots of silver glitter inside and shake it up!

Buy glow sticks online or in your local dollar store, cut into the sticks and splash the fluid all over the jars. Be careful not to stain yourself or the surrounding area. The glow in the dark effect will last only for a few hours.

Collect slips of paper.

Cut small pieces of paper or purchase pre-cut paper strips. These will be used to write down blessings or things you are grateful for throughout the year. Make sure the paper is easily accessible near the jar.
