I. Register for HAC (If you already have an account see Logging into HACbelow.)
- Go to the HAC website, http://hac.bryanisd.org/
- Click the HAC link
- Click on the Register for HAC link
- Complete the registration information and click Register. This information must match what Bryan ISD has for your contact information.
- For parents, a link will be sent to the email address used when you registered your student.
- For students, the link will be sent to their Bryan ISD email address.
- If you’re having issues signing up or resetting your password, please emailhac@bryanisd.org
II. Logging into HAC
- Go to the HAC website, http://hac.bryanisd.org/
- Click on the HAC link.
- Enter your username and password.
- Click Log In
- If you have forgotten your username or password, use the link to recover it.
- NOTE: It does require you have an email address on file with the school district. If that does not work, please emailhac@bryanisd.org
III. Navigating in HAC
Multiple Students
- If you have more than one student, click on the “Change Student” button in the upper right hand corner of the window.
Navigation Buttons
Page | Description |
Home | The current week’s schedule and attendance |
Attendance | A month view of the student’s attendance. |
Classes | Displays the due dates, and assignment dates for assignments in each class. Grades and score information for the assignments are also available. Also shows the student’s schedule for the entire year. |
Grades | Displays Progress Report and Report Card grades |
Student Support | A listing of the discipline incidents involving the student. |
Registration | Displays demographic information for the student. |
IV. Progress Reports and Report Card Grades
- Choosing the Report Card tab will show the most current Report Card grades.
- Choosing the IPR tab will show the most current Interim Progress Report Grades.
V. Looking at Classwork
- By selecting the Classes link from the navigation buttons, you will be able to review your child’s current published grades in each of his/her classes.
For each class HAC will display the student’s current assignments and scores as well as a category breakdown with the overall average.
- To see detailed information, click the Full View button in the upper right hand corner.
Classwork Column Descriptions
Column Heading | Description |
Date Due | This is the day the assignment is due. |
Date Assigned | This is the day the assignment was assigned. |
Assignment | This is the name of the assignment. Clicking on the assignment name will give you information about the assignment. |
Category | This will indicate which category the assignment is grouped into such as Daily, Major or Lab Work. The average of each category will carry certain weight towards the student’s overall course average. |
Score | This is the grade that the student received on the assignment. |
Weight | Teachers have the option of weighting assignments more heavily than others. A weight of 2 would mean the assignment will be counted double towards the student’s average. |
Weighted Score | This is the score of the assignment, multiplied by the weight of the assignment. |
Total Points | This represents how many points an assignment is worth. |
Weighted Total Points | This is the total points multiplied by the weight of the assignment. |
VI. Student Support
- By selecting the Student Support link from the navigation buttons, you are able to view your child’s discipline. The discipline information contains current year and previous year information.
Student Support Column Descriptions
Column Heading | Description |
School Year | The school year for the Incident. Discipline for the current year as well as previous years will be listed. The school year is designated by the year of the spring semester. Example: The 2012-2013 school year is designated as the 2013 school year in HAC. |
Incident | This is what the student did to receive the referral. Clicking on this link brings up more detailed incident information. |
Category | Bryan ISD does not use this column |
Building | This is the building where the student received the referral. |
Location | This is a general location of where the incident happened. |
Incident Date/Time | This is the date and time the incident occurred. |
Incident Role | This is the role of your child in the incident. Clicking on the link will open a window with more detailed information including the actions that were taken for the incident. |
VII. Alerts
By selecting your name in the upper right hand corner and selecting My Alerts, you are able to configure the alert you receive for your child.
Alert Column Descriptions
Alert Type | Description |
Attendance | Checking the box will allow you to receive attendance notifications about your child. Click the link to display a pop-up window for specifying the types of attendance alerts. |
Course Average | Checking the box will allow you to receive notifications if your students course average is above or below the limits you enter. |
Discipline | Checking the box will allow you to receive discipline notifications. Click the link to display a pop-up window for specifying the types of discipline alerts. |
Classwork | Checking the box will allow you to receive classwork notifications. Set percentages for the assignment alerts you would like to receive based on low averages and high averages, for example, below 75 and above 90. Leaving both fields blank allows you to receive alerts for all assignments, while setting the percentage for one field blank limits alerts to courses with averages at that level (below or above). |
- Alerts are sent via email and will use the email address that is on file with the school.
- The alerts will contain some information, but it is recommended that when an alert is received you log into HAC and check your child's information.
VIII. Logging Out
- To log out of HAC click the logout button in the upper right hand corner.
