Every year, more than 7 million flower bulbs are planted by hand in the autumn to flower in spring. There is a variety of 800 different tulips. A unique and unforgettable experience for everyone. The 2024 edition will be extra festive due to Keukenhof’s 75th anniversary.

Keukenhof theme 2024

Every year the flower park is dedicated to a specific theme. The inspiration gardens, events and artworks are adjusted accordingly. Keukenhof will celebrate its 75th anniversary in 2024. Walking between the tulips

From the 10 miles (15 km) hiking trails of Keukenhof you will have a spectacular view of the flower gardens. During your walk you will see unique, weekly changing flower shows, beautiful ponds and various pavilions with various restaurants and terraces.It is your chance to make the most beautiful selfie and flowers photos. In addition to the huge flower garden, the flower park is also the largest statue garden of the Netherlands. You can admire many statues made by national and international artist.

Keukenhof is also very nice for children. They can enjoy the treasure hunt, the petting zoo, the maze and the playground. For the little ones, there is also a Miffy playground.A visit to the flower park is a nice day out for the whole family.

This beautifully designed book gives you a glimpse behind the scenes of Keukenhof and it is also a nice souvenir of your visit. You can pick up the Keukenhof park guide on the day of your visit at the entrance upon presentation of your online ticket. The park guide costs only € 7.00 and can be ordered when buying your Keukenhof tickets.

When to visit Keukenhof?

A question we get very often is when is the best time to visit the tulip park. Because the flower bulbs are planted in different layers in the park, the flower park is great every day during the season. In 2024, the season starts on Thursday 21 March and the last day is Sunday 12 May. There are three different flowering periods.

First period – From the opening the park will have lots of blooming flowers. There are some great indoor flower shows with many blooming tulips. Outside there aredaffodils and crocuses in bloom.

Second period – After the daffodils and crocuses it’s time for thehyacinths and the early tulips to bloom in the outdoor gardens. The indoor flower shows are still amazing with great colors.

Third period – In the last period the tulips will bloom in the outdoor gardens. The trees will be green and the indoor flower shows are still showing amazing flowers.

Tickets for Keukenhof Gardens 2024 are best booked online in advance. Tickets are available at the box office on a limited basis and cost € 23.00 there. On busy days, Keukenhof is often sold out and tickets are no longer available at the box office either.

The flower park is close to Amsterdam, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and other Dutch cities like Haarlem, Leiden, The Hague, Rotterdam and Delft. We advise you to plan your trip to Keukenhof in advance. There are several options available. You can travel bij public transport (Keukenhof Bus Express), driving to the flower park by car, book a guided tour from Amsterdam, The Hague or Rotterdam, get a taxi, go biking or walking to the Keukenhof Gardens. Car

Keukenhof Gardens is very easy to reach by car. The flower park is located between the cities of Amsterdam, Haarlem, Leiden and The Hague and can be reached from the cities within 30 minutes by car.

At Keukenhof there are two large car parks for which you can buy a day ticket for € 10.00. You can easily buy your parking ticket when you buy your Keukenhof ticket.

Keukenhof Gardens will work with a maximum number of visitors per day in 2024. When booking your tickets, you must select a day and time slot for entering the park.

Bus

The Keukenhof Bus is an ideal option for traveling to Keukenhof Gardens. The Keukenhof bus departs from various train stations in the Netherlands and takes you quickly and cheaply to the flower park. With your bus ticket you will get bus transportation to Keukenhof and back and access to the tulip gardens. The price of the combi-ticket is depending from the departure location. Below you can check the price per train station.

In 2024 it will be compulsory to select a time slot for the Keukenhof bus. This is the time you want to board the bus at the departure location. If you buy a combi-ticket, you don’t have to choose a time slot to enter Keukenhof. You may choose when you want to travel back. There is no need to choose a time slot. PLEASE NOTE: there is a maximum capacity per bus, so book your tickets in time!

Around Keukenhof Gardens you will find the most beautiful tulip fields in the Netherlands. The area is called Bollenstreek (flower region) in Dutch. It is therefore also possible to make a sightseeing tour from the flower park to these beautiful flower fields. The sightseeing tours can be perfectly combined with a Keukenhof visit. There are several options:

Boat trip along the tulip fields

In the flower park you can take a boat trip to see the tulip fields from the water. The boat trip lasts 45 minutes and during the trip you will receive information about the flower region. This unique tour is not included in a Keukenhof ticket and has to be bought separately at the windmill in the flower park.

Cycling along the tulip fields

What could be more Dutch than discovering the tulip fields by (rented) bike. There are various Keukenhof cycle routes that take you past the most beautiful tulip fields. Bicycles can be rented at Keukenhof bicycle rental and daily guided bicycle tours start at 400 metres from Keukenhof. Book your activity in advance.

Sightseeing tours

Around Keukenhof there are also other tour operators. You can discover the tulip fields with an electric Renault Twizy tour, an electric scooter, a tuktuk private tour and even with a helicopter flight above the tulip fields.
