DescriptionThe Human Resources (HR) department at Publix directs many of the initiatives designed to further the potential of our associates. Within the department, the Policies and Procedures Specialist develops, updates, and publishes policies, procedures, and forms that adhere to Federal/State and Publix requirements. Ideal candidates can research, analyze, and interpret laws and regulations, as well as manage highly confidential and sensitive information.
In Publix’s corporate offices, we value in-person interactions, similar to those our store associates have with customers. Many of Publix’s corporate offices offer work from home up to two days a week.
Additional Responsibilities Include
Writing, editing, updating, publishing, and retaining company-wide policy materials according to Publix standard writing formats and templates
Responding to document production requests for current and archived HR materials, and develop an understanding of record retention schedules and legal hold requirements
Responding to associate and customer inquiries regarding policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or other related area or equivalent experience
At least one year of experience in human resources or employment law
At least one year of experience writing policies, procedures, and/or training materials
Knowledge of human resources functions, processes, policies, procedures, and practices
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and especially in writing, with associates at all levels of the company
Ability to prioritize tasks, work with little or no supervision and handle deadline constraints
Knowledge of Publix standard writing formats and templates
Ability to maintain HR materials by following a standard document management process, Publix’s record retention schedule, and legal hold requirements
Advanced skills with Microsoft Word and Outlook
Year End BonusAs a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
