What is the Tulip Experience Amsterdam?

The Tulip Experience consists of an interactive tulip museum, a large selfie tulip garden and a cosy coffee corner with indoor tulip picking garden and a regional market.

Tulip museum

At the Tulip Experience Amsterdam’s lively tulip museum, you will learn what goes into growing the Dutch tulip. You will be taken through the whole process of bulb growing; from planting to finally shipping the tulip bulbs to customers all over the world.

Tulip show garden

In the large selfie/tulip garden, you can enjoy 1 million tulips. These are 700 different varieties coming from our own nursery. In this show garden, you will take the ultimate photo. Several exclusive photo opportunities are also placed at the show garden so you can take the perfect selfie.

Indoor tulip picking garden

The tastiest Dutch snacks and drinks can be found in the coffee corner. At the end of your visit, you can pick your own bunch of tulips in the indoor picking garden, and buy delicious local products at the local market.

What are the opening hours?

The Tulip Experience is only open in spring during the tulip season. In 2024, the Tulip Experience will be open from 21 March to Sunday 12 May at the following times. A visit to the Tulip Experience takes about 60 to 75 minutes.

How to get to the Tulip Experience Amsterdam?

Tulip Experience Amsterdam is located on the Delfweg in Noordwijkerhout, between Amsterdam and The Hague.

By car

The Tulip Experience is very easy to reach by car. The venue has its own large car park. A parking ticket is free during your visit. You can park during your visit (60 to 75 minutes).

By bicycle

The Tulip Experience is best reached by bicycle. Because the location is situated between the bulb fields of the Bollenstreek (bulb region), the route to the location is already a tulip experience. At the location there is enough space in the bicycle racks. The Tulip Experience is situated along the popular Bollenstreek Flower Route, a 35 kilometre cycle route along the bulb fields. There are also several bike rentals in the area.

By public transport

From Amsterdam, there are 2 daily day trips to the Tulip Experience Amsterdam. During this tour, you will visit Keukenhof flower park in addition to the Tulip Experience. Book this day trip here.

Are you coming by public transport? Then it’s best to travel to train station Hillegom. Take bus 57 in the direction of Leiden and get off at the bus stop Ruigenhoek. From the bus stop you can walk to the Tulip Experience Amsterdam in 10 minutes. Check 9292.nl for actual departure times. You can also travel to Keukenhof on one of the Keukenhof buses and rent a bike at Keukenhof.
