When our pros tested the softest bed sheets, PeachSkinSheets earned perfect ratings from our panel of sleep testers, who described them as feeling "luxurious" and "much softer" than other sheets they'd owned. What are PeachSkinSheets?

The Atlanta-based brand makes microfiber sheets. Compared to traditional cotton sheets, this type is softer, thinner and more lightweight, according to Executive Director Lexie Sachs of the GH Institute Textiles, Paper & Apparel Lab. These sheets are also more shrink- and wrinkle-resistant than many cotton sheets.

For $115, PeachSkinSheets are sold as a set and come in a variety of sizes, including ones for split King beds. Play with a pop of color to the tune of 32 options that span from pastels to neutrals. To best pair your sheets with decor, you can also order free color swatches before committing. Plus, every purchase is backed by a 30-day money back guarantee in case you're not satisfied with your bedding and a one-year warranty if you spot any defects in the fabric, finish and workmanship.

What fabric are PeachSkinSheets?

PeachSkinSheets are 100% polyester microfiber. In general, polyester tends to be more durable, less expensive, less prone to shrinkage and less prone to wrinkles than many cotton sheets. One of the fabric's few downsides is that it tends not to feel quite as luxurious.

As for care, the brand claims to use an "anti-pill" finish that requires specific laundering. It recommends washing in cold or warm water — separately from towels, blankets and other sheets. Then, dry alone on medium heat for 20 minutes. That's adequate time to get relatively crease-free bedding, per the brand. Another thing to keep in mind is the manufacturer advises to avoid pouring detergents directly onto fabrics and to avoid pods so as not to leave streaks.

Are Peach Skin Sheets good? Our thoughts

We put sheets through the metaphorical and literal wringer. Over the past few years, our experts scrupulously tested more than 275 sheets and analyzed over 10,000 data points, using lab equipment to gauge strength and durability. Then, our panel of at-home sleep testers across a variety of sleep types tested each set for at least two weeks. PeachSkinSheets earned a perfect score when rated for softness and comfort.

One GH tester ranked them in the same league as high-quality hotel sheets. "The minute I tool them out of the packaging, I noticed how soft they were," another consumer raved. "Their fitted sheet has an extra-wide elastic band (about an inch wide) that kept it from sliding around the way standard fitted sheets do."

The directional tag on the fitted sheet.

As someone who blasts the AC in order to snuggle into soft sheets and mounds of bedding, I was a good candidate to test its cozy-yet-lightweight reputation. First things first: Making the bed was leaps simpler thanks to the thoughtful directional tag on the fitted sheet. Just note the sheets appear wrinkly fresh out of the box (as pictured above) but they settle into a nice, smooth finish after washing and drying. I wouldn't describe the feel as buttery soft because it's lightweight, but perhaps truer to its name — like delicate peach skin.

While I typically prefer breathable linens, the light PeachSkinSheets coaxed me into a comfy sleep. Getting up felt tougher after a night's rest under the bedding's luxurious feel — an anomaly, I find, when it comes to polyester or microfiber fabrics. A caveat, though, is that these sheets are sheer. One GH tester noted that they could see their colorful mattress topper beneath the fitted sheet. And the material also pilled easily in Lab tests, which is fairly common when sheets are brushed for added softness, per Sachs, although still not ideal.

Are PeachSkinSheets hot?

If you’re a hot sleeper or are prone to night sweats, these sheets might not be the right fit as polyester can run hot. That being said, the sheets are also lightweight and breathable, and our testers did not find them to cause any overheating in their at-home testing. Keeping my room at my typical chill, I found that the sheets didn't make me feel any more or less warm upon waking up.

Are PeachSkinSheets worth it?

Any sheet set priced over $100 surely makes you think twice. Weighing the cons, PeachSkinSheets can require a bit more maintenance than other brands. In order to prevent pilling, you must wash them in an entirely separate load. Plus, they felt a bit thinner and are more pricey than other polyester sheets. Those who want something more affordable may find a favorite in our best value pick for softness: the $30 Mellani sheets set.

When considering whether you should buy, know that it all whittles down to your sleep preferences and needs. Some sleepers prefer a cool, crisp sheet, but if you prefer softness — almost like peach's skin — above all else, our experts think PeachSkinSheets is your best bet for ultimate softness.
