I was trying to get a new iPhone 14 Pro from Verizon when I accidentally placed an order for the 128 gig model, while I wanted the more expensive 512 gigabyte one.
Instead of panicking about it, I composed myself and realized I needed to get this order canceled first.
I didn’t know how to cancel an order on Verizon’s store, though, and the website wasn’t really clear about it.
I found out that you can only cancel specific orders you’ve made on Verizon, and canceling regular orders is restricted to a pretty small time window.
You can only cancel an order from Verizon before it gets shipped. Cancel the order by going to the Order section in your Verizon account. Some orders that are for accessories cannot be canceled.

Verizon has slightly different cancellation policies depending on what device was in your order when trying to cancel it.
In some cases, you can get the order canceled immediately after ordering and before the order is shipped, and in other cases, you might not be able to cancel at all.
Verizon’s backorder processing will only take a few hours, but it only starts when the item you ordered is back in stock.
The same goes for pre-orders, and they only start processing when the order is ready to be shipped a few days before the launch day.
You can also cancel regular orders only before 10 minutes have passed after you placed the order and only if you contact Verizon support directly.
Even though Verizon will only take a few hours to process an order, you won’t be able to cancel it by talking to support after the 10 minutes pass.
If the order cannot be canceled, which might be because the order was shipped, you can return the order or exchange it when the order is delivered.
Returns and exchanges will cost a $50 restocking fee, so try canceling the order before it ships.
You cannot cancel in-store pickup orders, but you can choose not to pick up the order, which will get canceled after three days of not picking up.

To cancel your order, you must be quick to get it canceled before it ships while following the steps I will be talking about carefully.
Canceling your Verizon order is pretty easy; if it is a pre-order or a backorder:
- Log in to yourVerizon account.
- Go toMy Orders.
- Find the order you want to cancel. If it can be canceled, you’ll be able to see a cancel button near the order.
- Click the button to cancel the order.
For other types of phone orders, you’ll need to contact Verizon support to get the order canceled within 10 minutes of placing the order.
This will let them cancel the order before it is shipped and save you valuable time and money.
If you want to cancel an order for an accessory, you only have a limited amount of time to contact Verizon support and get them to cancel the order.
After the window expires, which is usually 10 minutes after you place the order, you won’t be able to cancel the order but will only be able to return or exchange the item.

We Need A Cancel Feature For All Purchases
It’s not just that you’re not able to cancel orders, they have a policy where any pending orders will stop Verizon from allowing you to make an upgrade.
This only makes things 10 times worse especially if you’re in the middle of upgrading all the phones you own.
I wish Verizon had expanded the ability to cancel orders for all items like you could with Amazon because customers can change their minds, and they should have the freedom to choose.
Until they implement it, there’s no other way to quickly get your order canceled, and you’ll have to call in.
If you go past the 10 minute mark, then canceling is most probably not possible anymore.
