I paid full price for a gold iPhone 6 64 gig when the site when live. I decided the next morning that I really wanted the silver version.
Verizon says they can't cancel my order and have no idea why. Has anyone ever had this happen? They had to open up a case and escalate it past the managers to a help desk.
Worst part, they won't even let me order the silver one. Their system says I have a pending order so I can't order a second phone, even if I pay full price again, until they can cancel the first one.
I realize I should have been fully committed to the color I ordered but surely it can't be that hard to delete an order from their system.

Verizon told me the same thing whenever I called. I accidentally purchased two phones wanted to cancel the other. I ended up figuring out that if you put your confirmation number in on the preorder page there's an option to still cancel as long as it's not shipped.

I believe you will be able to cancel, but not immediately. The original order has to be processed in the system, and then it can be canceled.
Some people who order on 2 or more systems sometimes run into this problem. In a day or so you should be able to cancel what you need to.

I looked around to try to find where you cancelled and I couldn't find anything. I appreciate the help, though.

Yep, I cancelled mine using that link and bought from Apple directly. My ship date was 10/7 and now I will have it on launch day.

I pulled up that link and there was nowhere on that screen to cancel. My guess is it is because my phone has already shipped at this point. I'll have to either send it back for a refund or just sell it and reorder the color I want.
I appreciate everyone trying to help, though.

Strange I canceled mine through Verizon and it was instant. Why are they denying you, has it already shipped?

It's not that they're denying it, it's that their system won't allow it. I originally tried canceling with five hours of ordering and it wouldn't let them.
Now it has shipped so I don't think there's any way to cancel. I'm going to have to mail it back or sell it and then I should be able to order the silver version. Just sucks because had they been able to cancel it quickly I could have bought the silver and still got it on launch day. As it stands, I'll be waiting a while.

Just receive it and go exchange it through a Verizon retail store, maybe that will work. Otherwise, mailing it back would be the last resort.

I'm just going to sell it.
I posted it for sale on Facebook for the exact price I paid for it and had it sold in ten minutes.
Now I just need it to clear my account so I can order the correct color and then promptly take my seat at the back of the bus for the next three weeks waiting on it to show up.
